Diversity is not only related to the difference between cultures from different populations, but also, within the same country, to the difference in the sustainability of the various areas and the resulting consequences for the residents of these areas.
Often cities, which have a rather large number of inhabitants and electorate, receive Europe’s economic contributions in various fields that are more substantial than smaller regional areas that would like to maintain their specific characteristics and preserve cultural diversity while at the same time fostering the development of the EU.
In this sense there is a European Citizens’ Initiative which supports the “Cohesion policy for the equality of the regions and sustainability of the regional cultures”. For more information you can visit https://europa.eu/citizens-initiative/initiatives/details/2019/000007_en
